Principal’s Message
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Voy Spears Jr. Elementary.
I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with you and your child during this school year. I hope that this year our school year will be filled with learning, fun, and, most importantly, success! I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.
I am a very proud Blue Springs graduate. My memories of growing up and attending grades 5th-12th here in Blue Springs are those I won’t soon forget. It is an honor to consider myself a BSSD team member!
I received my degree in Elementary Music Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri. In December 2015, I completed my master’s degree in Elementary School Administration at the University of Central Missouri. In March of 2024, I completed my Specialist Degree in School Leadership at William Woods University.
I began my teaching career as a music teacher and continued that for 6 years. I then had the opportunity to move into the classroom where I taught 5th grade and 2nd grade. Finally, I began my role in leadership first as a literacy coach and then had the opportunity to become an administrative intern, followed by an assistant principal. In August of 2020, I had the great privilege of joining the Falcon Team at Voy Spears Jr. Elementary!
I love Blue Springs, and I believe it is a great place to live and raise a family. In fact, I have two daughters who are students in our district, and I am grateful they have the chance to receive their education here in Blue Springs. Outside of my career in education, I also enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters and love watching all their activities!
I love working with children, and I hope to make a small impact on the lives of each of my students. I hope to provide a positive learning environment where all students feel safe, welcome, and loved.
I believe that each of you plays a valuable role in your child’s education, and we must work together for every student to be successful. I’m looking forward to a great year together! Please don’t hesitate to call or email me with any questions, comments, or concerns.
