Hi Falcons,

My name is Leah Rider, and I will be joining the VSE team as the Speech-Language Pathologist in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program. I received my undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Middle Tennessee State University. Following graduation, I worked in a deaf and hard-of-hearing preschool within Vanderbilt University Medical Center before heading to graduate school. I graduated with my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Fontbonne University in 2021 and spent my first year working as an SLP in a school district in St. Louis, Missouri.

I just moved to Kansas City at the beginning of this summer and am loving everything KC has to offer! In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends, exploring the area, and reading a good book. I am so excited to begin my second year as an SLP / first year at BSSD and am looking forward to meeting you all! Let’s have a wonderful school year.

Hi!  I’m excited to be a VSE Falcon this year!  I earned a Master’s Degree from UCM in Counseling K-12 in 1993.

My 30 + years in education have been spent supporting students, parents and staff.  I look forward to providing guidance lessons in the classrooms, promoting a positive learning environment, and helping every child achieve success.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.  I also participate in tennis, pickle ball, yoga and cycling.  This is going to be an amazing school year!
